CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar is currently preparing to resume service following the 98th annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.

Now that we have received the “all clear” from the Cincinnati Police Department, the process to resume streetcar service will begin promptly and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete the safety measures outlined below.

Re-Opening Streetcar Process:
Supervisor inspects entire 3.6 mile loop of streetcar track and overhead power wires to ensure they are clear of any obstructions that may prevent safe operations.

Power is turned on at each of the three traction power stations, which re-energizes the streetcar’s overhead power electrical system. Overhead wires must be powered down prior to the parade to allow for the safe passing of parade floats.

After all safety clearances are completed, streetcars will be dispatched in 12-minute increments to maintain spacing between each car.
